An Invitation to The Journey

The Journey is year one of a Christian discipleship process that invites you to pay attention to what God is designing to do uniquely in and through you in the service of God’s kingdom.

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”

Ephesians 2:10

God is always up to something good!

One of our core principles is…

You will start a long and thoughtful journey to look at these key questions from different angles.

  • All of his attributes – not just the ones we gravitate towards

  • The whole package :))

  • Using my unique personality, strengths, spiritual gifting, experiences, passions, skills, work context, family context ...

  • Typically groups are made up of six to twelve people who include men and women, young and old, experienced leaders and those just beginning to explore their potential.

  • Participants will come together in weekly, two-hour small group meetings, guided by a trained facilitator, that encourage accountable, safe relationships, thoughtful reflection, honest conversation, and prayer.

  • Groups typically begin in the Fall and meet together through the Spring.

  • There are three manuals that guide the three stages to The Journey. In addition to regular Bible reading, these manuals will launch the participants’ reflection and conversation from week to week.

  • Group members spend two to four hours each week reading and prayerfully reflecting on the content presented in the manual, a book of the Bible, and the recommended text for each stage. They also spend time practicing spiritual disciplines and reflecting on how what they are learning is shaping their own lives and the lives of people they know.

  • Each group is guided by a person(s) who has been equipped and prepared to facilitate The Journey process.

  • Participants are encouraged to identify a mentor or spiritual friend whom they meet with twice a month for conversation and support and prayer.

How does the Journey process actually work?
