Youth SOAR Retreat
This past week from August 6th to 9th, KGFYouth and Praxis Youth joined forces for an impactful service retreat called SOAR! Over four days, our students immersed themselves in learning and service, staying overnight at KGF. The retreat was a transformative experience, focusing on understanding and living out God's missional heart for our city.
The first two days were dedicated to learning. We were inspired by Joel from Metro, who shared insights about their work with people downtown. We also heard from Harmony House and Freedom’s Door, gaining valuable perspectives on their work with men and women. Our Evangelism workshops equipped our teens with practical skills for sharing their faith.
Our time at UBCO was particularly enlightening. Students participated in sessions on active listening and engaged with campus students, hearing their stories and sharing in their experiences.
The final two days were devoted to hands-on service in our city. Our teens contributed by cleaning homes for those in need, and served at the Pregnancy Care Center, the food bank, and even a therapy ranch. These activities allowed our students to witness and participate in God's work around them, reinforcing their sense of purpose and call to live missionally.
The retreat was a powerful reminder of God’s goodness and the impact of living out our faith through service and engagement with others. Thank you to everyone who supported and prayed for this meaningful experience!
