Mark 1:1-8
When was the last time you got invited to a fancy event? Was it a gala? A wedding? An awards ceremony? Prom? And what did you do to prepare to go to it - did you buy a new outfit? Put on a suit? Rent a limo?

We’re all familiar with getting ready for special events in our lives, and we do our best to prepare for them. The gospel of Mark begins with a wild man in the desert telling people to get ready for a special event like they’ve never experienced before. He’s also going to tell them what being prepared looks like. Let’s explore that together.
