Mark 5:1-20

This week, we are exploring Mark 5! Jesus and the disciples encounter a man possessed by a great number of demons. This has caused the town much distress, and despite their efforts, the men of the town have had no luck dealing with the problem at hand. However, a greater power has arrived; Jesus. Jesus swiftly deals with the legion of Demons and restores the possessed man to full health. The people of the town, have seen the restorative power of God in full display. Gods kingdom is crushing Satan’s dominion! Yet, the people see the arrival of God’s kingdom as too costly and too threatening to their comfort. The power and presence of Jesus go unwanted.

God’s kingdom is present today, but it is not always convenient or comfortable and may be costly. How will we respond to his power?
