Sinner Dinner
Mark 2:13-22
Do you ever feel like you don’t belong? It can happen in social settings, in work environments, in a new school, and yes, even in the church. You feel like you’re the odd one out, like no one shares your interests or perspectives like you’re lonely even when surrounded by a group of other people.
In Jesus day, there were people who KNEW they didn’t belong. They were shut out because they were “tax collectors and sinners”. A well-respected teacher would’ve been expected to avoid contact with folks like that, but Jesus isn’t like the other teachers of his day, and he makes that clear in our passage this week.
With love,
Pastor Shawn Klassen
